Economics Scholarship at University of Saskatchewan, Canada
The Department of Economics offers funding in the form of scholarships, graduate teaching fellowships, and teaching and research assistantships to qualified graduate students on competitive basis. Funding is offered at the entrance level; that is, there may not be any additional application required to be considered for funding.
The Master of Arts program in Economics at the University of Saskatchewan is funded for the defined length of the program, which can be completed from 1-2 years.
Admission requirements for the Economics Scholarship
Master of Arts (M.A.)
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE): Submission of the GRE is recommended for all applicants. Applicants who have not earned a degree from Canada or the USA are required to submit a GRE.
- Language Proficiency Requirements: Proof of English proficiency may be required for international applicants and for applicants whose first language is not English.
- A four-year honours degree, or equivalent, from a recognized college or university in an academic discipline relevant to the proposed field of study
- A minimum 70% average (USask grade system equivalent) in the last two years of study (e.g. 60 credit units) including courses in Advanced Micro and Macro Economic Theory, Econometrics, and Mathematical Economics
- Application deadline is February 1st each year

Before beginning your online application, be sure that you have carefully reviewed all program information and admission requirements on this page.
During the application, you’ll be asked for:
- Personal information such as your name, address, etc.
- Contact information of your three referees
- For your letters of recommendation, two of your referees must be academic contacts, and the third may be academic or professional
- Your complete academic history from all previous post-secondary institutions
At the end of the application, you will need to pay a non-refundable $120 application fee. Your application will not be processed until payment is received.
